We live in the age of “googling” – fast information at our fingertips whenever needed or just wanted.
And I am a fan.
But just Information does not make us experts.
And Just Information about a person does not build intimacy.
And just by gaining information about God we can never truly know him and His love.
I spoke at a retreat last weekend during the women’s time. At the end as i was sharing about the most important part not just being about setting up boundaries to combat lust nor just focusing on whats in front of us to combat comparison. The most important thing is loving and being in relationship with our amazing God and while speaking about our amazing God – i felt dry. I felt disconnected emotionally from my words. I shook it off as me being tired and just having a long day – and that made since . . .
Until this week – this week i studied Ephesians 3:14-22 in the Glorious Grace bible study. This is a passage that is pretty hard to NOT connect with. It has so much elaborate truth, but no matter how many times i read it I came out not connecting at a heart level. God’s word is living and it never comes back void so it wasn’t the Word- something was going on with me.
So its the end of this week and its time to share, as I do every week, what God is speaking to me through His Word and i come in need.
I come in need of prayer, I come saying that I need this prayer prayed for me.
14 For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, 16 that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being,17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19 and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
20 Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us,21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
God is the only one who can strengthen us with the power to do what He has called us to do, even love Him. I desire to continue to grow in, experience and comprehend His love so much so that it oozes on to those around me.
Sisters, lets pray for one another that we will continue to grow in, be rooted and grounded in and comprehend His love. I am believing that He will do it ABUNDANTLY in us!
